A master bathroom renovation in Sydney with new shower, toilet, vanity and Arova bath tub installation
We completely changed the floor plan of this master bathroom to create more usable space for the Arova bath tub, shower and vanity installation.
This master bathroom renovation is a great example of how you can change the floor plan of your bathroom to create more usable space. The old bathroom had an old vanity that took up the whole wall area with lots of wasted space either side. The toilet was located right at the door entry, so you would see this ugly toilet as soon as you walked into the bathrooom and of course it was a combined bath and shower.
So we moved the toilet, bath and vanity unit so that there was plenty of space for a freestanding bath tub, new walk in shower and brand new wall hung vanity while hiding the toilet behind the door. Combined with new floor and wall tiling it meant the room immediately feels fresh, bright and spacious as soon as you walk in.
This is an example of the master bathroom renovations with new floor plans that Nu-Trend can be a Sydney renovation contractor for. It was a pleasure to work with Rick, Robbie, Chris and the Nu-Trend team on our bathroom and unit renovation and were grateful with the high standard of work they delivered.
Renovating in a strata complex we needed a company who was fully licenced and insured and could communicate openly and with the required level of detailed planning and documentation including contracts and project updates with photos. Nu-Trend exceeded our expectations on all requirements.
Project milestones were always met, work was to a very high standard, noise was managed, housekeeping was excellent and rubbish removed at the end of every day, all flooring was protected and notices were posted to update neighbours. No question was too small for Rick and the team to answer and any issues encountered were discussed collaboratively to allow the best solutions to be found.
The quality of the work delivered was second to none. We would highly recommend Rick and the team for anyone looking for a professional and trustworthy renovation partner.Tim Starr
Can you move a bath and toilet in a bathroom renovation?
A qualified plumber can move your toilet or bath tub in the bathroom to a different location to improve your floor plan.
Nu-Trend is a Sydney master bathroom renovation company that prides itself on being able to deliver high quality renovated rooms. We even share lots of trade secrets to make sure property owners are not getting misled by cheap quotes or poor work – see our Bathroom Renovation Advice
So for this property because Nu-Trend are qualified plumbers and bathroom renovators we can take care of both tasks so that you deal with less trades & we can make sure it is done to high quality Australian Standards. We completely demolished the room then made sure all the piping was checked and prepared, including a CCTV Camera inspection & high pressure water jet blast, then re-created the foundations for the room from the floors to the walls.
Can an interior designer help with a bathroom floor plan?
Using an interior designer can help you to utilise a space better as they can custom design the room to perfectly suit your needs. An interior designer will look at the overall living arrangements and other spaces in the house to work out clever renovation solutions to maximise space usage, light, ventilation and storage. They do this with their knowledge of available materials, construction techniques & the latest market trends. For this project the decision making was pretty straight forward because there was so much space already in the room that wasn’t being used which made it easier to move things around and install a new walk in shower.
Why do master batheroom renovation quotes vary so much between renovation companies?
Some people might compare quotes from their friends from a similar sized renovation and wonder why there is maybe a $5,000 or $10,000 difference. Although many different factors come into play;
– What was the access like for the renovation?
– Are existing building materials being used?
– Will a Gyprock or renderer be required?
– Is their stair case or single level access?
– Are there noise restrictions that limit the times we are able to work?
– What is parking like around the location?
– Are the existing depths and heights being used?
– What is the condition of the existing room & does it need repairs?
– Will the plumbing need to be moved?
You can save money on a renovation if things like the access is easy, you are using existing fixture locations and time is saved on labour from getting into and out of the room faster or using an existing floor plan.
Arova bath tub and other products we used in this master bathroom
For this master bathroom most of the products used came from Arova. The brand was established in 2012 and has a range of affordable designer bathroom products and kitchen storage systems. They are based in Melbourne but can ship products to Sydney. Arova is a one stop bathroom store with vanities and shaving cabinets, toilet suites, wash basins, showers, baths, sinks, kitchen mixers and bathroom tapware.
Arova focus on a range of products that offer reliable quality with optimal functionality. Their products are designed and engineered for Australians, complying to applicable Australian standards by carefully selecting their manufacturers from the top factories in the industry. The products used in this ensuite bathroom were elegant and simple to keep with the modest interior design style including the use of a wall hung bathroom vanity with timber that adds a touch of warmth to the room.
- COMO Shower Bath Wall Mixer Chrome
- Nero Nova Round Twin Shower Set Slim Hand Shower Chrome
- AQUA Chrome Pop up Waste
We also worked closely with the property owner to create some other ways to maximise the feeling of space in the bathroom for a clutter-free feeling as soon as you walk into the room. We helped design these elements to achieve this;
- Custom made glass shower screen; the frameless design reduces the visual clutter and is custom made to suit the room vs pre-made fixed shape designs. There are no clumsy tracks or messy frames required just a single sheet of glass that is easy to clean and very safe to use.
- Wall hung vanity ‘floating’ unit; this reduces the bulk sitting on the floor and allows your eye to see the floor tiles.
- Custom made shower drain; created using a matching floor tile it blends into the floor and you hardly notice it.
- Huge wall niche in the shower to make it easier to store sanitary items.
